While I am decidedly low-tech, my mini chefs-in-training love gadgets. After we gave a cherry pitter to one of our friends, that has been on Dylan's short-list of wishes; and while we were at the Butchart Gardens in Canada, Riley was campaigning for a strawberry huller. Seriously?!? Whose kids are these...

So tonight, for dessert, I put the gadget kings to work and we had pitted cherries and hulled strawberries.
Fantastic summer fruits and I didn't have to do anything except rinse them. Sweet!
Now I just need to extract the gadgets from their sleepy grips - yes, in their beds - and make a rule that those things must stay in the kitchen. Tomorrow.
