Classic and Simple: Peanut Butter Cookies #CulinaryCam

These peanut butter cookies were a family affair when we filmed this for the Culinary Cam YouTube channel. Here's a behind the scenes shot as they heckled me for making Peanut Butter Miso Cookies . Sometimes you just need to go back to the basics, right? And I love that these can be made in about 30 minutes with ingredients you probably already have in your kitchen. Cheese Boards: A Feast for the Eyes and the Tastebuds #SundayFunday #CulinaryCam

Happy Sunday. Do you know what that means? It means that the #SundayFunday bloggers are sharing recipes today. It's low stress, just a great group of gals that I am happy to blog alongside. Thanks to Stacy of  Food Lust People Love , Sue of  Palatable Pastime , Rebekah of  Making Miracles , and Wendy of  A Day in the Life on the Farm  for coordinating.   Today I am hosting and I gave the bloggers the prompt of making holiday cheese boards. Cheese boards are simple to put together but have a high wow factor. And they are undeniably one of the easiest appetizers you can assemble. You just need to offer a variety of colors, textures, and tastes. So, for today's #SundayFunday event, I invited the bloggers to join me in sharing recipes or tips for making holiday cheese boards.  I love the surprise details that might be phyllo-wrapped baked cheeses, pickle relishes, homemade crackers, spiced nuts, and more. I told the group that anything you would put o...

Kitchen Yarns + How To Make Roasted Tomato Sauce #FoodieReads

Kitchen Yarns: Notes on Life, Love, and Food by Ann Hood* showed up on my recommended reading list for my Kindle. And I fell for it, hook, line, and sinker, finishing it in just one sitting. But, really, Amazon's algorithms are always spot-on, so I'm not surprised that I loved this memoir. On the Page image from amazon.com Let me start with this: I've never read any of Hood's novels. I can't even name one. But I truly enjoyed this memoir and will be looking for more of her books. And, Kitchen Yarns  is one of the best titles. Ever. It's such an image-invoking name. Each of Hood's anecdotes are threads. Memories, conversations, and events that bind together family, friends, and food to create a poignant book. Each yarn explores how the happenings shape her as a person, as a wife, as a mother, and as a writer. The book also includes recipes throughout. I've bookmarked several of them and am on the hunt for other recipes that she men...
