Farro, Barley, and Quinoa - Oh, My! - Six Easy Grain Bowl Salads #CulinaryCam

These grain bowl salads are the perfect Autumn side dish or main dish. And I love that they are so, so simple to assemble! Here are six variations using three different grains - farro, barley, and quinoa. But use whatever grains you have. These would be just as tasty with rice, freekah, or even buckwheat! You can watch the process on the CulinaryCam YouTube channel ...or right here! Ingredients are listed below for each bowl. But, as always,  I urge you to just be creative and use what you have. I love how easy these are to customize with whatever ingredients I have on-hand. They are colorful, toothy, and tasty. If you are local to me, I picked up all of the pantry items at The Quail & Olive in Carmel Valley. Anni always has great pantry items whose producers have great stories and make quality items. It's always a treat to go there and get inspired. Simple Crunch Quinoa Bowl 2 cups cooked quinoa 1/2 cup sliced purple cabbage 1/4 cup chopped celery 1/4 cup chopped bell pepper...

Chai a Little Tenderness Autumn Muffins #BlendsBash #Sponsored

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of the Book Club Cookbook . I received complimentary product for the purpose of review and recipe development, but all opinions are honest and they are my own.  This page may contain affiliate links.   Several weeks ago, my contact at  The Book Club Cookbook  emailed, offering me a few  new spice blends  to participate in their 2021 #BlendsBash.  You betcha!  So, I planned to share a series of three recipes. This is the first. Stay tuned for the others. Ingredients  makes a dozen muffins The Chai a Little Tenderness blends cardamom, cinnamon, ginger, clove, nutmeg, black pepper, rose petals, and mint. It's a more alluring version of a pumpkin pie spice with those last three ingredients. I decided to use it in some autumn muffins made with homemade applesauce. Or you can swap out the applesauce for pumpkin puree. This muffin is a great way to feature your favorite Fall fruit. ½  cup organi...

Changing Seasons: Fall al Fresco + L'Ecole's 2019 Frenchtown #Sponsored

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of L'Ecole .  Complimentary wine was provided for this post and this page may contain affiliate links.  However, all opinions expressed here are my own.   If you're been following my blog, you'll know that I'm doing a series of monthly posts in collaboration with  L'Ecole Winery .* A group of us participate in a virtual tasting with their marketing manager, the winemaker, and the general manager and discuss timely topics. This month, we are talking about harvest with their  2019 Frenchtown . And we got to, virtually, meet the new marketing manger, Ben. Looking forward to working with him though we will all miss Marta who is on her new adventure in her home country of Portugal. L'Ecole's 2019 Frenchtown As this is the first red wine released of the season - it comes out about seven months ahead of the other reds - it's fitting that it's the first red wine on which this group is focused. The 2019 Frencht...

A Fall Tradition: Picking Apples and Pears

Yesterday my mom invited us to join her for apple picking at her friend's property. Apple picking has been a Fall tradition since the boys were little. I'm thinking those apples in his hands might be about the same size...just twelve years' difference.   And I found this picture from a 2007 apple pie-making session. I was a little surprised that I have a 3-year-old a knife. Hmmm... So, this year, one of my best friends and her two boys joined us. We picked tons and tons of apples and pears! It was nice to share our tradition with them... And we're looking forward to sharing an apple pie with them this weekend. They worked hard for those fruits. Do you have a family tradition of going apple picking this season?  What's your favorite apple recipe?

You're Invited to #winePW 5: Fall Fruits and Wine Pairings

Join us for #winePW 5: Fall Fruits and Wine Pairings. It is beginning to feel like autumn where I live in central California. To me, that means apples, pumpkins, and quince. So, for this iteration of #winePW, I'm inviting all my blogging pals to share their Fall fruit recipes with a wine pairing.  Wine Pairing Weekend 5, " Fall Fruits and Wine Pairings" happens on Saturday, October 11. Let me say another word about what we are looking for on this theme. You might choose to share a sweet or a savory. Think roasted pork tenderloin with an apple chutney and wine. Or quince butter tarts with wine. Get creative, and join us for the #winePW fun! Before I get into the nitty-gritty about how you can join us for #winePW 5, let me give a shout out to the bloggers who joined us for the September #winePW event: Curious Cuisiniere , Vino Travels , Cooking Chat , foodwineclick , Pull That Cork , Rockin Red Blog , Grape Experiences , and Confessions of a Culinary Diva ...
