February was my first month participating in a fun event - Random Recipes - that I discovered on  Belleau Kitchen . I completely blitzed on the project last month, but decided to jump back in for June when we are celebrating the 40th month with a 40-40 combo - pick the 40th cookbook off your shelf and flip to the 40th page. Dominic had teamed up with the We Should Cocoa event and I made a Chocolate Truffle Tart . We took last month off. But we're back with a vengeance! Here's his invitation for April's Event: A is for Alphabakes , co-hosted this month by Ros of The More Than Occasional Baker and Caroline of Caroline Makes . We picked our recipe tonight. Here's how we did it... I selected six cookbooks and assigned two cookbooks to each family member (minus my husband who was busy doing homework) who selected a number between one and ten. Riley wasn't too excited that he had The Artful Vegan ; he's a dedicated omnivore! Everyone flipped to the index - letter A - and wrote down the recipe that corresponded to their number. We ended up with Roasted Broccoli with Almonds, Honey-Allspice Cake, Vanilla-Lavender Aioli, Albondigas, Crispy Spice-Brined ...

This month Random Recipes (hosted by Belleau Kitchen ) meets We Should Cocoa (hosted by Chocolate Log Blog ). I'm in! All three of my boys helped me pick the recipe. Click for that post: here .
