After the boys went to Jakey's birthday party and had Shirley Temples, they have been asking if I can make "Shirley Tempers." I guess that's what it sounded like to them. Okay, I'm game... photo courtesy Pia Garneau So for New Year's Eve, I made Homemade Grenadine . And we whipped up our own version of the mocktail without 7-Up. But R did insist on having "party cherries." Ingredients Homemade Grenadine ginger syrup freshly squeezed lemon juice sparkling water ice cubes maraschino cherries Procedure I am not providing proportions because each of us made our own versions. Pour syrups into a glass. Add in as much lemon juice as you would like. Add in the ice cubes and sparkling water. Stir gently to combine the liquids. Garnish with a cherry.
