Comforting Colorful Ravioli #FoodieReads #Sponsored

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Nuts.com.  Complimentary product was provided for this post and this page may contain affiliate links.  However, all opinions expressed here are my own. I found myself reading, taking notes, but not heading to the kitchen to post any inspired recipes for the entire final quarter of 2021. But I'm catching up now. So, let's start with  Mothertrucker: Finding Joy on the Loneliest Road in America  by Amy Butcher. On the Page In this poignant, heart-wrenching memoir, essayist Amy Butcher narrates her unlikely adventure on the loneliest road in America with this country's lone female ice trucker. The late Joy 'Mothertrucker' Wiebe was effervescent and inspiring. Through Butcher's recounting, we see her exploration and conversations with Joy about issues including Indigenous rights, religious beliefs, hypocrisy, and even environmental challenges. I read this book in just two sittings. A word of warning: if you are tri...

Cucina .  Complimentary products were provided for this post  though no other compensation was received.  This page may contain affiliate links. When I received an email from my contact at Kobrand Wine and Spirits, asking if I wanted to participate in a 'Taste Authentic Italy' event, there was really only one possible answer:  Sì , certo! Yes, of course.  We emailed back and forth about my selections for the wine and artisan pasta tool - from Wine365 and q.b. Cucina*, respectively - and then I set about exploring which recipes I wanted to make. First, let's take a look at these two brands. q.b. Cucina: Brass Pasta Tools If you follow my blog or social media, you probably know how much I love words and language. So, I was especially tickled to learn the meaning behind the brand's name. According to their website, q.b. is an acronym often used in Italian recipes. The two letters stand for...

It's time for Fish Friday Foodies' March 2021  event. W e are a group of seafood-loving bloggers, rallied by Wendy of  A Day in the Life on the Farm , to   share fish and seafood recipes on the third Friday of the month.  And this month, Wendy is hosting. She asked the bloggers to share fish/seafood recipes that pair well with red wine. She wrote, " You don't have to do a pairing but are welcome to if you would like. Look for recipes with Asian flavors, in red sauces that complement red wine, that use a fattier, denser fish, grilled or roasted cooking methods. The possibilities are endless. Who says that you must drink white wine with fish or seafood?" Here's the March 2021 line-up from the #FishFridayFoodies. I cannot wait to try these recipes... Gluten-Free Rombi with Prawns and Zucchini Sauce #homemadepastamadesimple #ad

I've followed the blog Manu's Menu for several years. So, when Manu posted that she was looking for a few bloggers to test recipes and post a review of her upcoming cookbook, I was definitely game. She grew up in Italy and I've always found her recipes like a homecoming of sorts. I miss Rome, especially when I visit local farmers' markets and make homemade pasta. The first recipe I tried was her Prawn and Zucchini sauce. It was so easy, delicate, and delicious. But, as it was a weeknight, I didn't have time to try one of her pasta recipes. This past weekend, on a leisurely afternoon, I decided to make the same sauce and use it with one of her hand-rolled pastas.  D and I had just gone to a farmers' market and picked up fresh summer squash and fresh squash blossoms. You can read all about that adventure here . I emailed Manu and told her I was thrilled to have a gluten-free pasta recipe to try. She cautioned that the gluten-free dough is...
