Almonds + ginger syrup + butter + spices + cayenne = delicious, easy snack
3 C raw almonds
1 C ginger syrup
3 T butter
1/2 t ground cinnamon
1/2 t ground ginger1/2 t ground cardamom
1/2 t ground nutmeg
two dashes of cayenne peppersmoked sea salt
In a large mixing bowl, place all ingredients except the ginger syrup, butter, and sea salt. Bring the ginger syrup to a low boil over medium heat. Add butter and continue cooking till completely melted. Stir over nut mixture and toss to coat. Using a slotted spoon, remove nuts. Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet, sprinkle with smoked sea salt, and leave to dry.
