SRC: Smoked Salmon Deviled Eggs + Bison Brewing's Saison de Wench

It's time for Group B's  Secret Recipe Club   May  reveal .  This month I was assigned to  Secrets from the Cookie Princess , but one of the other bloggers needed help finishing her assignment and I happily took on A Spoonful of Thyme as well. Kathy is the blogger behind A Spoonful of Thyme and this is the first time I've gotten to explore her blog. She's been part of a gourmet group for thirty-three years. Wow!  So many of her recipes were intriguing -   Red Wine Pot Roast with Honey and Thyme , Fiddlehead Fern , Heirloom Tomato Marmalade , and Plum Tart with Ginger Crust .   But, as I was limited on time, I picked her Smoked Salmon Deviled Eggs . I made a few adaptations, swapping out capers and pickles for marinated artichoke hearts, subbing a different mustard and using the herbs that I had in my fridge. But the smoked salmon is truly the star of this dish. They were the perfect first course for my Mothers' Day feast. Thanks for the ...

Lemon Pappardelle with Green Garlic and Smoked Salmon

This is beyond delicious! And, better than that, it's so easy for a weeknight evening. You can make your own pasta, but I opted to go for a trail run tonight, so I bought these. 4 stalks of green garlic, trimmed and thinly sliced 1 fennel bulb, trimmed and thinly sliced 4 T butter 1/2 C organic heavy cream 1/2 C shredded parmesan 1 t lemon juice pappardelle smoked salmon, thinly sliced Cook the pappardelle according to the directions. In a large, flat-bottom pan saute the green garlic and fennel in a splash of olive oil until softened and beginning to caramelize. Add in the butter and cream and bring to a simmer. Stir in the parmesan and lemon juice. Stir in the pasta and toss to coat. Garnish with slices of smoked salmon.

Smoked Salmon + Brie + Bacon Jam

This afternoon I had lunch with one of my best friends. As we were getting ready to leave the restaurant, she handed me a cooler. "Mike has been experimenting with cold smoking salmon," she explained. Have I mentioned how much I love getting gifts of goodies and ingredients?!? I already had plans for dinner, so I started brainstorming about turning Mike's cold-smoked salmon into our first course. Here's what I came up with... Crusty French bread spread with a triple creme brie, topped with cold-smoked salmon, and smeared with bacon-fennel jam . Thanks, Mike. You'll have to explain cold-smoking to me next time I see you.

Look in the comments section. This was an easy dinner on a Sunday night. Well, easy for me. My husband had to pick the crabs clean...which I really, really appreciated.
