I still have tons of apples from our trip to the orchard this weekend. I wanted a simple dessert and opted for baked apples. So easy!
Wash, halve, core, and destem the apples. Place a pat of butter in the hollow, add a dash of ground ginger, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, and ground cardamom, sprinkle with sugar. Bake at 350 degrees, covered with foil, for 45 minutes.
Let cool for 5 minutes. Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Top with sliced, sauteed apples, if desired.
