Though my preferred pizza crust is Mark Bittman's Mostly No Work Pizza Dough, when I don't plan ahead - like tonight - this will recipe suffice.
I didn't feel like doing anything tonight. Close friends balked and demanded, "Define 'do nothing'! Because nothing means you call for pizza delivery." Okay, I didn't feel like doing too much; I wanted to make pizza and watch Star Wars with my three loves. Easy enough. I doubled this and made three medium-ish pizzas.
1 T active dry yeast
1 T organic granulated sugar
1 C warm water
2-1/2 C white whole wheat flour
2 T olive oil
1 t pink Himalaya salt
Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. In a medium bowl, dissolve yeast and sugar in warm water. Let stand until creamy, about 10 minutes. Stir in flour, salt and oil. Beat until smooth. Let rest for 15 minutes.
Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface and pat or roll to fit your baking stone, round or rectangular.
Pizza One - Riley's Pick: minced garlic, tomato sauce, shredded cheeses, ham, and fresh pineapple chunks
Pizza Two - Dylan's Choice: Pesto, shredded cheeses
Pizza Three - For Jake: tomato sauce; shredded cheeses; ham; ground beef sauteed with Spring onions, fennel seeds, paprika, ground cumin; olives, and a sprinkling of salt and pepper.
Bake in preheated oven for 15 to 20 minutes, or until golden brown.
