Turmeric Lemon Roasted Potatoes #FoodBloggerLove

I noticed a fun game posted in the online group #FoodBloggerLove. We claim the last blogger in the comment stream and add our own link. Then we have a week to post an inspired recipe. I was excited to claim Cindy of  Cindy's Recipes and Writings . She and I have been in several different blogging groups over the years, so I was familiar with her blog already. But it was nice to really dig in and get to know her. Meet Cindy! You can find her: on the web , on Facebook , on Twitter , on Instagram , and on Pinterest . Cindy has been blogging since 2012 and was a professional cook for more than four decades. She's a passionate cook and gardener, a proud Penn State Master Gardener alumna. She's been a contributing writer for several newspaper columns where she lives in Northeaster Pennsylvania, including "Garden Spot” in Pocono Record ,”The Watering Whole” in Times News, and “Lawn and Garden” in Pocono Xpress . But, probably my favorite part of her bio is when she...

Jammie Dodgers #BakingBloggers

When Sue of  Palatable Pastime   reminded me of the theme of this month's #BakingBloggers - British Baking - I knew I  had  to join in and experiment with a version of Jammie Dodgers. She wrote: "Bake up a British recipe (English, Scottish or Welsh), your choice of sweet or savory." Whenever I have a choice of sweet or savory, I almost always lean savory. But I've had these cookies on my to-make list for years. I figured it was time. First, though, the other British-inspired recipes... Britain's Favorite Game Bird: Roasted Pheasant #EattheWorld

It's hard to believe that we're already in 2019...where did 2018 go? And the holidays!?? Well, here we are for the second 2019 installment of our #EattheWorld project, being spearheaded by Evelyne of  CulturEatz . Here's  her challenge . And this month she has us traveling by tabletop to England. She wrote: "Let's hop back to Europe. Our next destination is England." I had just spent about 8 hours in London. Well, in the airport...not in the actual city. We had two four-hour layovers at Heathrow on our way to and from Denmark. And, needless to say, we ate while we were there. The boys and I hopped between all the stores and restaurants, looking at the choices that differed there than in our own country. Now I know that airport food isn't always indicative of the country's actual cuisine, but you can get some good ideas. In the cold case, in one store, I saw Chicken Tikka, Egg Mayo Cress, and Tuna Sweetcorn sandwiches. All on white bread. We...

Brined Quail with a Numbered Bottle of Tannat #WinePW #UruguayWine #StoriesToTaste #Sponsored

This is a sponsored post written by me in conjunction with the February #WinePW event. Wine samples were provided for this post and this page may contain affiliate links. Jill of of L'Occasion is hosting the Wine Pairing Weekend - #WinePW - group this month as we explore the wines of Uruguay. You can read her invitation here . And several of us were also lucky enough to receive samples arranged by Amanda Barnes of South American Wine Guide   who also shared this article and tech sheets on all the bottles. That really made my life easier since I had never had any wine from Uruguay! Always happy to learn though. The Posts Pinny at Chinese Food and Wine Pairings presents   Uruguay’s Bodega Garzon Tannat Paired with Lamb Skewers and Beef Short Ribs . Winter Wonderland Mojito #WarmUpDrinks

Here we are at the last installment of the Winter Warm-Up Drink Series hosted by Ellen of  Family Around the Table ! Can you believe it's been six weeks of delicious, delectable winter drinks? I hope you've enjoyed all of the weeks and have been inspired to whip up some cocktails of your own. I know that I have several on my to-try list. What came out of the kitchen was less than photogranic albeit tasty. The coconut milk had thicker...

Miyagi Oysters with Pomegranate Mignonette #FishFridayFoodies

It's time for Fish Friday Foodies' February event. We are a group of seafood-loving bloggers, rallied by Wendy of  A Day in the Life on the Farm , to   share fish and seafood recipes on the third Friday of the month. This is, easily, my favorite recipe sharing event of the month. I always come away with a list of recipes that I just have to try! And this month, I am  hosting. And you might, rightly, have noticed that this is only the second Friday of the month. You are right. We decided to push the date up a week so that people might be inspired for Valentines' Day though these dishes would be great for any date night in. Here was my challenge to the group for and event I themed 'Quite the Catch!': You can always celebrate love and romance...any day of the year. So, please share your favorite seafood dishes for you and your sweetheart and inspire the rest of us! On the Hook Braised Cod Peperonata for Two by Karen at Karen's Kitchen Stories Currie...
