'Where the Crawdads Zing' Seafood Boil #BlendsBash #Sponsored

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of the Book Club Cookbook . I received complimentary product for the purpose of review and recipe development, but all opinions are honest and they are my own.  This page may contain affiliate links.   Several weeks ago, my contact at  The Book Club Cookbook  emailed, offering me a few  new spice blends  to participate in their 2021 #BlendsBash.  You betcha!  So, I planned to share a series of recipes. The first I posted was my Chai a Little Tenderness Autumn Muffins recipe. This is the second recipe. Stay tuned for the others. Where the Crawdads Zing  is a blend that was described as a 'Gulf Coast Bay Seasoning'. Comprised of a mixture of celery seed, sea salt, cayenne pepper, yellow mustard powder, thyme, paprika, black pepper, ginger, and bay, I figured I would use it as I would use Old Bay. And - in a moment of serendipity - my mom requested a seafood boil for her birthday dinner. Done! In...

Holding on to Summer with a Trio of Pinot Grigio Wines and Seafood Pairings #Sponsored

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Albino Armani. Complimentary wine was provided for this post and this page may contain affiliate links. However, all opinions expressed here are my own. Last month, a few of us took part in a webinar about Albino Armani* wines; I had received a nice trio of wines and was excited dive right in to my guided exploration.  Graziel mille  to Susannah of  Avvinare  for coordinating!  I am a Pinot-girl all the way. Pinot Noirs are some of my favorite reds all year long but, during the summer months, I adore sipping chilled glasses of Pinot Grigio.   I am excited to hold on to Summer for a little bit longer with these wines and some fresh seafood pairings.  Pinot Grigio thrives in the 'Triveneto' - Veneto, Fruili Venezia Giulia, and Trentino - and the eponymous Albino Armani is a Pinot Grigio specialist. And all of his grapes are certified SQNPI (in English it's the  National Quality System for Inte...

The Kitchen Elves' Senegalese-Style Gumbo #EattheWorld

It's hard to believe that it's almost the middle of April...and we, at least here in California, have been on shelter-in-place orders for almost a month. Nothing like time on my hands - thank you, shelter-in-place orders! - to get me going back through my drafts folder to update and publish posts! Thankfully one of those posts fit perfectly with this month's #EattheWorld challenge. I love when that happens. You'll just have to ignore the fact that the kids are about 4 or 5  years younger in these photos. Welcome to our April #EattheWorld project, being spearheaded by Evelyne of  CulturEatz . Here's  her challenge . This month she said, "This month our destination is Senegal, a nation with a rich history of traditional African culture and French influence." Before we get to my recipe, here are the others' Senegal recipes Amy’s Cooking Adventures: CafĂ© Touba (Senegalese Spiced Coffee)   Culinary Adventures with Camilla: The Kitchen Elves...
