Almost all of the time, my posts are about things that I - or my boys - have cooked. Sometimes, though, I want to share something that I've eaten. And tonight is one of those times. We had dinner at a new Mediterranean eatery to celebrate Fathers' Day with my parents. When I saw arancini on the menu, I had to order some for the table. I probably will never make these, as I don't like to fry things, but I wanted share them because they are one of my favorite snacks. I used to order supplì - deep fried rice balls, stuffed with meat and cheese - all the time when I lived in Rome. They're delicious and easy to eat while on the go...and I was always on the go. Not much has changed in that regard. Arancini , what these are called in Sicily, and on the menu at The Market are called that because they resemble oranges. In Rome, they are called Supplì al Telefono , literally supplì 'to the phone.' Odd name, until you think back to the days when phones had cord...
