Three Chile Mole #Sponsored

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Selefina spices. Complimentary product was provided for this post and this page may contain affiliate links. However, all opinions expressed here are my own. Years ago I attended two mole-making classes at a local shop. And, while I am grateful to know how to make mole, I don't do it that often. But when a contact from  Selefina * asked me if I would like to sample their new line, I looked through the website and decided to give it a whirl with their products. Selefina is new venture from the people behind Adagio Teas. They have used their experience in global sourcing and making connections to find high quality spices and seasonings. And by purchasing in bulk and using their own brand for labels, costs are kept lower for the consumer. It's a win-win and, from what I've tried, the products are amazing. Stay tuned for more posts, but this recipe uses several of their items, including three different dried chiles, hence ...

Fire & Ice Ceviche #CooktheBooks #FoodieReads

Claudia of  Honey from Rock  is hosting our bi-monthly reading group  Cook the Books .  And, if you'd like to join the fun, the posts aren't due till the end of March, so you still have time. You can read her announcement  here . She has asked us to read  Where I Come From: Life Lessons from a Latino Chef  by Aarón Sánchez* which is the book pick for February and March 2021. I have had this on my shelf for a few months and just kept pushing off starting it until I read some other books. When I had a lull...and realized that February was almost gone...I picked it up. And it was a breeze to read and a completely delight! I know that I have seen  Aarón Sánchez on television when we've stayed in hotels and watched the Food Network. Maybe Chopped . Maybe MasterChef   or IronChef . But he never struck me as a television personality that I was compelled to read more about or learn his back story. So, I'm glad that Claudia picked this mem...

Beef Burrito Bowls with Avocado Crema and Peach Pico de Gallo #VirtualCookingParty #EverydayEileen #BEefTogether #NYBeef #Sponsored

When I saw an invitation to join Eileen from Everyday Eileen in a virtual cooking party, I applied immediately. This shelter-in-place order is going on twenty-one weeks and I really miss cooking with and for friends. Recent weeks have seen me on virtual board meetings, school meetings, and book club meetings. I did host a virtual pasta party for my 47th birthday when my friends made their own dinner and we just chatted on Zoom while we ate. And last weekend I attended a socially-distanced wedding from the safety of my own patio. But I haven't done a virtual cooking party and was thrilled to receive my sponsor box from the New York Beef Council .* What fun swag! And I was really excited about the Beef Bucks with which to purchase my ingredients to make the dish. That seems a much easier way to go than trying to deliver frozen beef to the bloggers. So, after the virtual party, I headed to the market and picked up what I needed. Yesterday was the day. We all log...

Mexican Street Corn Shrimp Pasta #IncredibleOnePotCooking #Sponsored

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of author Megan Marlowe and publisher Page Street Publishing. I received a complimentary book for the purpose of review, but all opinions are honest and they are my own. No additional compensation for this post was provided; this page may contain affiliate links. Last week I received an advance copy of a cookbook by a fellow blogger: Megan Marlowe of Strawberry Blondie Kitchen . Her new book is entitled Incredible One-Pot Cooking: Easy Delicious Recipes for Exciting Meals - Without the Mess. * Megan and I have blogged in similar circles for a few years, participating in virtual events for #BrunchWeek, #ChristmasSweetsWeek, and she joined my #FreakyFruitsFriday last October. So when I saw the post that she had published a cookbook and was sending copies out to bloggers for review, I jumped at the chance. I am always eager to bolster fellow food bloggers' books and projects. On the Page Marlowe is a busy mom of two an...
