Château du Cèdre Extra Libre 2018 Malbec + Cider-Braised Chicken Thighs #Winophiles #Sponsored

This is a sponsored post written by me in conjunction with the October #Winophiles event. Wine samples were provided for this post and this page may contain affiliate links. This month the French Winophiles are headed, virtually, to Cahors. Though hosted by Nicole of Somm's Table , Jill of L'occasion was able to line-up some wine samples for the group through the UIVC (Union Interprofessionnelle des Vins de Cahors). Merci beaucoup! I received three bottles: Château du Cèdre Extra Libre 2018 Malbec, Château de Gaudou Le Sang de Ma Terre 2018 Malbec, and Château Lamartine Cahors 2016. All of which were new to me. If you are reading this early enough, join us on Saturday, 19 October at 8am Pacific time for a live Twitter chat. Use #Winophiles so that we can see your comments. This is a pairing that I made on the second night of pouring the Château du Cèdre Extra Libre 2018 Malbec which I received for the upcoming October French Winophiles event. Grilled Lamb Sirloin with Cèdre Héritage 2015 #Winophiles

This month Jill of L'Occasion invited the French Winophiles to post about Cahors. Here's her invitation . If you are reading this early enough feel free to join the live Twitter chat on Saturday, September 15th at 8am (Pacific time). Search for us with the hashtag #Winophiles. Or you can peruse those tweets at your leisure any other time. And an admission: I think I have too much wine! Or maybe I just have too many recipe posts hanging out in draft form. Both are a possibility. So funny story, I bought this bottle of wine earlier in the year, knowing that I wanted to pair it for this event, the September editon of #Winophiles. I cooked and paired the wine with my  Comforting Beef Stroganoff . Then I couldn't find the photos or remember what I paired with the wine. So I bought a second bottle of the same wine and did a whole new pairing! I guess the good part of that is that Jake and I actually preferred the second pairing. Before I get to my post, please check out t...

Comforting Beef Stroganoff + A Cahors Malbec #FoodieReads

I still don't remember how I ended up with The Comfort Food Diaries: My Quest for the Perfect Dish to Mend a Broken Heart by Emily Nunn* on my to-read stack. I don't recall if a friend recommended it, or it was just one of those 'people who bought x also bought this' suggestions that always gets me on Amazon. Always. In any case, on one sunny Saturday this month, I plunked down on a chair in the sun and read all the way through it with, first, lemonade in hand and, then, sparkling wine as the afternoon wore on. Uncomfortable Food Years ago I asked friends to help me define 'comfort food' - you can read my post 'I make uncomfortable food.'   After this dinner, Jake said, "You should email Kevin and tell him you can  make comfort food!" Too funny. On the Page Let me set the stage: Emily Nunn has just lost her brother to suicide, her engagement is shattered when the Engineer doesn't understand why she's wallowing in her...
