Cinnamon Raisin Oatmeal Cookies

I don't think I realized just how polarizing raisins in cookies were until I made a batch of oatmeal raisin cookies recently and shared photos on social media. Responses ran the gamut from... It's okay to have these for breakfast since it's just oatmeal and raisin in a different format, right? These are my favorite! I highly recommend replacing raisins with chocolate chips. Makes them about 1 million times better. My boys hate raisins so I make oatmeal chocolate chip. And, in response to the comment above, Thank you for being the voice of reason in all of this raisin nonsense! I fall somewhere in between there. I wouldn't say they are my favorite - gingerbread holds that honor! - but I don't despise raisins. I did share another recipe that included oatmeal, tea, and chocolate: Warrior Herb Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies . But of the three cookie eaters in my house, these were adored. Ingredients  makes approximately three dozen 2" cookies 1 cup (2 sticks) but...

Ach Tannebaum, ach Tannebaum, du bist ein edler Zweig!  Du grünest uns den Winter, die lieben Sommerzeit. Roughly translated, the lyrics are, "Oh, pine tree, oh, pine tree, you're a noble twig! You greet us in the winter, the dear summer time." That's always been one of my favorite Christmas carols. So, when Yum Goggle decided to sponsor the event and send us cookie cutters of our choosing, I picked a large tree and am kicking off the #ChristmasCookies week with these 'Ach Tannebaum' Iced Sugar Cookies. Trials and Tribulations of Sprinkled Cookies #ChristmasCookies #RecipeTesting #Sponsored

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Sprinkle Pop, a  #ChristmasCookies sponsor. I received complimentary product for the purpose of review and recipe development, but all opinions are honest and they are my own.  This page may contain affiliate links. I'll start with this: I'm a sprinkle novice. I mean, I've purchased sprinkles before, but I haven't used them often enough. Clearly. But, when Sprinkle Pop* signed on to be an event sponsor for a December event, I selected the sprinkle collections I wanted to use and waited for the shipment. And when they arrived, I jumped right in.  I had an idea of what I wanted the cookies to look like and made a batch of simple sugar cookies; I covered the top with the sprinkles - before baking. Needless to say, the cookies flattened, as I expected, but the sprinkles melted, unexpectedly. Whoops. They tasted good, but they weren't pretty. And, in my mind, the whole point of sprinkles is pretty! S...
