While I typically write about food and drinks, I sometimes write about products that are important for health and wellness as well. And, really, you need your teeth for eating. So, I think mouth health is certainly related to my usual topic!

I received a selection of toothpastes from Himalaya Botanique and my family of four quickly divided them up for testing. First, a little bit about the line...

About Himalaya Botanique Complete Care Toothpaste
There are seven different varieties: Whitening Complete Care Simply Peppermint; Whitening Complete Care Simply Mint; Complete Care Simply Peppermint; Simply Mint; Simply Cinnamon;
Simply Spearmint; and the Original Neem and Pomegranate toothpaste.

All of them are gluten-free. Yes, when my husband became gluten-free, I quickly discovered that gluten can be hidden in all type of products from shampoos to lotions and from sunscreen to toothpaste. Himalaya Botanique is also free from carrageenan, fluroide, and Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS). SLS is what makes other toothpastes foam. However, Himalaya Botanique foams just fine without that!

Our Thoughts
So far, we've all been using the toothpastes for about a month. Comments have included that the texture is nice and is more like foam than like paste. A little bit goes a long way; I only use a small pea-size amount each time. Teeth feel fresh and clean. One of my kids likes the box in which the toothpaste comes. Really.

But the biggest testament I have for the line of toothpastes: they taste great! I have a tough time finding toothpaste that doesn't taste too strong. My family objects to overly flavorful toothpaste. And while these are certainly minty, they are not overpoweringly minty.

So far, I have had no complaints. That's a huge plus. And, at $5.99 per tube, they are priced in the same range of what we usually purchase. I also like that this line is readily available at my local Whole Foods. You can also find it online at amazon and their own website. Links below.

Connecticut Lobster Rolls, Canned Lobster Bisque, and a 2019 Henry Fessy 'Maître Bonhome' Viré-Clessé #Winophiles

This month the French Winophiles group is looking at affordable wines from Burgundy.  Host Cindy of Grape Experiences wrote: "Burgundy, or Bourgogne, is known for its wines of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir... as well as Aligote, Gamay, Sauvignon, César, Pinot Beurot, Sacy, Melon in lesser quantities. Many of the well-known wines are quite expensive, but there are plenty of values to be found." Read her invitation here. And there won't be a Twitter chat for this event, so you will have to dive into the articles themselves to read about our pairings and findings. Here's the line-up... You're Invited: Take a (Virtual) Hawaiian Holiday with #FoodNFlix

Fall Break, Oahu, October 2017 For June, I am hosting  Food'N'Flix , the movie-watching, food-making group rallied by Heather of  All Roads Lead to the Kitchen . This week, my older son was supposed to graduate from high school and we were supposed to leave on a family vacation to the Big Island. But, as enter our eleventh week of being sheltered in place to flatten the curve of the coronavirus, all of our summer plans were canceled, including this long-planned graduation trip to Hawaii. Boo. I understand the need to self-isolate. And we are abiding by the social distancing guidelines put in place by our state. But, boo, nonetheless. Oahu, October 2017 So for this month's Food'N'Flix, I chose to open up the field and let all of the food bloggers take a (virtual) Hawaiian holiday.  My boys have been to Oahu several times with my parents in recent years as my dad grew up there and wanted to spend some time on the island with his grandsons. Ke...
