Back in April we went to the inaugural Independent Marketplace . Tonight, while Jake worked on his math homework, I whisked the boys over the West End to see what autumn treats the vendors had in store for us. If you've never been and you live in the tri-counties area, what's stopping you? Seriously. Picture local producers peddling their freshest, seasonal harvest - voluptuous dry-farm tomatoes from Live Earth Farm, gorgeous amethyst tipped edible thistles from Pezzini Farms, and petite, luscious oysters on a glistening bed of ice from Local Catch Monterey. Since my fridge is full with CSA goodies and I am, tragically, allergic to oysters, we focused on grabbing an al fresco dinner, exploring the artisan foodsmiths, and celebrating the bounty of our local foodshed.
